More About John

So, here’s what I’ve been doing with my life. Through my life and business experiences, I’ve garnered a reputation for getting things done against all odds….sometimes like a bull in a china shop and sometimes with the finesse of the governor general. Hey, life is too short to take all things too seriously!

I’ve been involved in the cultural industries for 37 years, working as an entertainer, manager, spokesperson, and agent and as an entrepreneur. I have served on numerous provincial and national industry boards and committees, including the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MIANL), the East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) and the Downtown Development Commission. I’ve also served on the national advisory board for the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records (FACTOR).

I was the president of the MIANL (Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador) for 3 terms. I am currently on the Board of Trustees for The National Film Board of Canada…………..so as you can see, I have a good time. !!!

I’ve been the Newfoundland and Labrador representative on the ECMA Board of Directors, where I chaired the broadcast committee for the 2004 award show and conference. I co-manage and perform in the eleven-piece band, Billy and the Bruisers and occasionally I have fun doing marketing campaigns for local and national clients. I produced the grand opening of Mile One Stadium and worked as a technical coordinator-consultant on shows produced by St. John’s Sports and Entertainment Ltd. at Mile One Stadium (contract position) for the first two years of operation.

For 26 years, I ran my family’s business (Charles Hutton Music). I sold the joy of music… pretty similar to homes. I’ve meet tons of parents, taught a lot of kids music and made a whole lot of people happy. I know the feeling of making people realize their potential. I know how to get to this point. This same process is just about the same as buying a home. You find out what you want, you arrange to time to get it, you pay for the service, you become happy.

Buying a new home is definitely one of the most important things that you’ll ever do in your life. Make it great experience, have fun with it, embrace the process and it will make you a very happy person. You know how some people talk about ‘buyer’s remorse’… don’t let this happen to you.

What do you want? Call me.
